DESCRIPTION:The seventh event in our ‘Big Game’ series. A custom narrative Warhammer 40\,000 Apocalypse game for crazy people with huge armies. Continue the story of Sephirus and impact what happens in our next narrative campaign day event! \n\n\n\n\nEvent Essentials\n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday 20th December 2025 from 8am \n\n\n\nWhere: Hull’s Angels Tabletop Gaming Club \n\n\n\nOrganiser: Tom H \n\n\n\nGame Format: Warhammer 40\,000 \n\n\n\nNumber of games: One big one! \n\n\n\nPainting requirement: Fully painted and based \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat You’ll Need\n\n\n\n\nEach player brings roughly 4000-5000 points of their army.\n\n\n\nThe game uses open war narrative rules and so you may bring whatever you like – there is no rule of three. You may bring models from different codexes/indexes if you wish but they must still all fit into either xenos\, imperium or chaos. Every model from one codex/index must use the same detachment e.g. all your space marines must use the Gladius detachment (if that’s what you pick) and you may not use any other for any other space marines you bring.\n\n\n\nEach player will have one warlord (pick the character that makes the most sense narratively). Each team will also select a warmaster\, who is in overall command of the team.\n\n\n\nYour army must be fully painted and correctly based.\n\n\n\nThis is a narrative mission about the story of your characters. Therefore\, you may not bring named characters (e.g. no primarchs). Each team will secretly select a number of minutes from 1 to 20. This is how much time they will have to set up their entire army. The team on each board with the lowest number will go first. Any units not set up in time are placed in strategic reserve.\n\n\n\nUnits coming in from strategic reserves may enter from any board edge and in the enemy deployment zone at any turn. All reserves must be on the table by the end of Turn 3 or count as destroyed. The team going second may bring in reserves from Turn 1.\n\n\n\nAircraft may start the game on the board\, deployed as normal.\n\n\n\nThe following stratagems may not be used: command re-roll\, counter-offensive\, insane bravery\, fire overwatch\, rapid ingress.\n\n\n\nEach player will be given 20 command points at the start of the game. You may not generate more for any reason.\n\n\n\nYou may use the same stratagem more than once in a phase. However\, the cost of this stratagem doubles each time you use it. (e.g. a 1cp stratagem will cost 2cp the second time\, 4 the third etc…)\n\n\n\nYou may not be available to watch dice rolls done against your units but someone from your team must watch every enemy dice roll. Unless you give permission\, you should roll all saves for your own units. You may also allow others to move\, fire and even charge/fight with your units if you wish.\n\n\n\nThe game is designed to be fun for all players\, so the organiser may make changes throughout the game to keep things fun\, for example I may allow a player to bring on dead units if they are losing their whole army. \n\n\n\n\nVictory Conditions \n\n\n\n\nThere are a number of objective markers on each board. Players that hold an objective at the end of their command phase earn their team 5 Victory Points if it is your deployment zone\, 10 victory points if it is in no man’s land and 15 victory points if it is the enemy deployment zone.\n\n\n\nKilling an enemy Warlord is worth 10 victory points and killing the enemy war master is worth 20 victory points.\n\n\n\nEach player will also have a secret objective. If they manage to keep this secret and achieve this by the end of the game\, each one is worth 10 victory points.\n\n\n\nThe team with the most victory points at the end of the game wins.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Schedule\n\n\n\n8.00 – 8.30 – arrive and get your army ready in a staging zone \n\n\n\n8.30 – 9.15 – Briefing and deployment \n\n\n\n9.15 – 12.00 – Game \n\n\n\n12.00 – 12.30 – Lunch \n\n\n\n12.30 – 20.00 – Game \n\n\n\n20.00 – End of the game \n\n\n\nThe game ends if any of these requirements are met: \n\n\n\n\nFive turns for all teams are completed.\n\n\n\nIt reaches 20.00\n\n\n\nThe outcome is obvious and the majority vote to end the game\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQuestions?\n\n\n\nIf you’ve got any questions about this event that aren’t answered in the event pack or below\, please get in touch! \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Venue\n\n\n\nHull’s Angels Tabletop Gaming Club is ran by the community\, for the community. Both teammates can work to score these objective e.g. if the objective “Cleanse” is drawn\, 1 unit from each players army can attempt the action to try and score maximum points.  \n\n\n\nEither player may spend 1 CP to cycle a mission card in the Command Phase but this can only be done once per command phase.   \n\n\n\n\nHow are rules and abilities that require certain objectives to be held to trigger work with 2 players? E.g. Canoptic Court power matrix\, Thousand sons Flow of magic\nArmies on each team are considered to be separate. So if an army needs to hold objectives or have a degree of board control for a benefit\, it must be done with their own units. Teammates cannot assist with this. \n\n\n\n\nHow are armies treated for rules about army size? Such as Leagues of Votann Grudge Tokens and Aeldari Battle Focus.\nIf the quantity of tokens are based on the size of enemy armies (Such as Leagues of Votann Grudge Tokens) then a player will receive the amount they would receive for a 2000 point game but they must be split as evenly as possible between both the opponents armies. If there is an odd number the controlling player may choose which opponent to give the extra token to. \n\n\n\nIf the tokens depend on your army size (such as Aeldari Battle Focus) players will only receive the amount they would get in a 1000 point game. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nDo my “debuff” abilities help my team member?\nArmy rules\, special rules\, detachment rules\, or stratagems that debuff an enemy\, even those such as Death Guard Contagions that change the enemy datasheet characteristic\, can not be taken advantage of by a player’s teammate. For example if a team has Death Guard and Space Marines and an enemy unit is within Contagion range\, only the Death Guard units will benefit from the -1 toughness (and other debuff) on the enemy unit. Continue the story of Sephirus and impact what happens in our next narrative campaign day event. \n\n\n\n\nEvent Essentials\n\n\n\nWhen: 21st December 2024 \n\n\n\nStart Time: 08:00 \n\n\n\nFinish Time: 20:00 (or earlier if the game is over) \n\n\n\nTicket Price: £5 \n\n\n\nNumber of Tickets: 12 (4 imperium\, 4 chaos\, 4 xenos) \n\n\n\nPainting Requirements: Fully painted and based \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Story So Far…\n\n\n\nThe Imperium is still reeling from the loss of Sephrirus and the STC machine that was found there. The forces of Chaos revel in their victory\, despite the loss of their demonic overlord. \n\n\n\nIn tatters\, those forces loyal to The Emperor that still remain have fled to the fortress world of Fortrin’s Forge. There they seek to employ a new weapon: a weapon powerful enough to destroy the beleaguered world of Sephrirus and all the forces who still walk its surface in one sudden move – erasing forever the mistakes that had been made there. \n\n\n\nHowever\, Fortrin’s Forge was already being besieged. Do the forces assailing it understand the weapon at its core or are they simply attempting to destroy the imperial remnants? Only time will tell. \n\n\n\nHeroes step forwards to prove there is light left in the darkness. Sephirius is gone but the war continues… \n\n\n\n\n\nEVENT RULES\n\n\n\n\nArmy Rules: \n\n\n\nEach player brings roughly 4000-5000 points of their army. \n\n\n\nThe game uses open war narrative rules and so you may bring whatever you like – there is no rule of three. You may bring models from different codexes/indexes if you wish but they must still all fit into either xenos\, imperium or chaos. Every model from one codex/index must use the same detachment e.g. all your space marines must use the gladius detachment (if that’s what you pick) and you may not use any other for any other space marines you bring. \n\n\n\nEach player will have one warlord (pick the character that makes the most sense narratively). Each team will also select a warmaster\, who is in overall command of the team. \n\n\n\nYour army must be fully painted and correctly based. \n\n\n\nThis is a narrative mission about the story of your characters. Therefore\, you may not bring named characters (e.g. no primarchs). C’tan shards are not named characters – but only one of each ‘named’ one may be used across all Necron players (if there are any) \n\n\n\nYou may bring legend units (provided they are not named characters). \n\n\n\n\n\nMission rules: \n\n\n\nThe game use a custom narrative rule set that players at previous Big Games will already know. \n\n\n\n\nDeployment is done by all players at the same time. Each team will secretly select a number of minutes from 1 to 20. This is how much time they will have to set up their entire army. The team on each board with the lowest number will go first. (Team Imperium must select one number despite being split across two boards). Any units not set up in time are placed in strategic reserve.\n\n\n\nUnits coming in from strategic reserves may enter from any board edge and in the enemy deployment zone at any turn. All reserves must be on the table by the end of Turn 3 or count as destroyed. The team going second may bring in reserves from Turn 1.\n\n\n\nAircraft may start the game on the board\, deployed as normal.\n\n\n\nThe following stratagems may not be used: command re-roll\, counter-offensive\, insane bravery\, fire overwatch\, rapid ingress.\n\n\n\nEach player will be given 20 command points at the start of the game. You may not generate more for any reason.\n\n\n\nYou may use the same stratagem more than once in a phase. However\, the cost of this stratagem doubles each time you use it. (e.g. a 1cp stratagem will cost 2cp the second time\, 4 the third etc…)\n\n\n\nAll Team Imperium players will start and finish their turns at the same time. Team Chaos and Team Xenos will do the same. However\, some players may find they are ready to start the next phase before others – this is acceptable\, provided you have checked with your teammates. You may not be available to watch dice rolls done against your units but someone from your team must watch every enemy dice roll. Unless you give permission\, you should roll all saves for your own units. You may also allow others to move\, fire and even charge/fight with your units if you wish.\n\n\n\nThe game is designed to be fun for all players\, so the organiser may make changes throughout the game to keep things fun\, for example I may allow a player to bring on dead units if they are getting destroyed. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nVictory Conditions: \n\n\n\n\nThere are a number of objective markers on each board. Players that hold an objective at the end of their command phase earn their team 5 Victory Points if it is your deployment zone\, 10 victory points if it is in no man’s land and 15 victory points if it is the enemy deployment zone.\n\n\n\nKilling an enemy Warlord is worth 10 victory points and killing the enemy war master is worth 20 victory points.\n\n\n\nEach player will also have a secret objective. They will be there to help you get started and answer any of your questions. \n\n\n\nIf you are a brand new player and need more help there will also be team members on hand to run you and your opponent through a full game. \n\n\n\nDon’t have an army ready but want to learn the game? No problem. There will be a small selection of armies that you can borrow to play your game. \n\n\n\nIt is recommended that you download the Warhammer 40\,000 app onto your phone in order to help you play.  \n\n\n\nWhilst there will be a small selection of these available to borrow if required\, please bring a tape measure\, dice and any other materials you need to play.

Though the demonic forces running rampart were dispatched\, the defenders have been forced to abandon the city for good. Now warbands of Ork clash with Tyranids forces daily\, drawing more and more alien forces towards the planet. \n\n\n\nDeep in the southern wastes the Tomb World beneath the planet’s surface continues to awaken. Whether this was part of the chaos warlord’s plan or an unforeseen consequence of their invasion remains unknown but the Necrons are continuing to emerge and spare no one they come across. \n\n\n\nChaos forces have taken the jungle fortresses and now use them as a base for their own seemingly random attacks. The true purpose of this invasion has yet to be seen. Surely there is more to this than random attacks? \n\n\n\nMeanwhile\, the defenders of Sephirirus have pulled back to the fortress in the north\, known as The Reach. \n\n\n\nThe invasion may be over but the planet has settled into a long drawn out war. Will any side be able to break this stalemate or will Sephirius share the same fate as so many planets: eternal war? Only time will tell.
