Round 5

Slippery Claws Sea

The storm over the Sea of Claws raged with a fury that turned the battlefield into a sodden, treacherous mire. Rain hammered down in sheets so thick it blurred the horizon, the howling wind driving it sideways, lashing at faces and filling mouths with the taste of salt and iron. Every surface was slick with water, from the churned mud underfoot to the steel of armor and blades, so slick it felt as if the world had been doused in oil. Swords glanced off breastplates instead of biting, gloved fingers struggled to hold onto spear shafts, and bowstrings, soaked and swollen, sent arrows skittering wildly into the storm. Cloaks clung like lead weights, boots slurped in the sucking mire, and the crash of the waves behind them was drowned by the constant roar of thunder. In the chaos of rain and steel, formations dissolved into desperate, grasping duels, where the line between victory and death was as narrow as the grip on a hilt.

Battles fought on or around the Slippery Sea of Claws have the following additional stipulations:

  • Blue is Difficult and Dangerous.  “Lighthouse” can be occupied and defended by LITM only and the controller at the end of each round gains 1 Scenario Point.
  • There Can Only Be One: If 2 LITM are challenging for control of the lighthouse, at the end of the combat, the loser must take their give ground/FBIGO/Flee out of the tower.
  • Dreaded Downpour: -1 to Hit Ranged Attacks from ranged weapon shooting as the attacker is soaked trying to take aim.
  • Slippery When Wet: -1 AP to everything, cannot be reduced below “0 ap”, as blades and bludgeons slip off the enemies armour.

Sylvanian Night Fight

The cold, fetid air of Sylvania hung thick with the scent of damp earth and decay as two armies stood poised for battle beneath a starless, shrouded sky. The darkness was near absolute, broken only by the flickering orange glow of torches that cast jagged shadows across the uneven ground. Every step was treacherous, the mud sucking at boots and hooves, hidden roots and crumbling gravestones lying in wait to send men sprawling. Archers and gunners muttered curses under their breath, their shots uncertain in the gloom, their targets mere shifting silhouettes in the distance. Armor creaked and banners rustled as the wind whispered through twisted, skeletal trees, carrying with it the distant howls of wolves and the uneasy murmurs of men who knew they stood upon cursed ground. Somewhere beyond the torchlight, unseen things stirred, waiting for the slaughter to begin.

Scenario:
Pitched Battle with the below special rules.

Battles fought during the Sylvanian Night Fight have the following additional stipulations:

Pitch Black: No Line Of Sight outside 12”

•Shielded by Shadow: Shooting over 6” counts as over half range

•Claws underfoot: Dangerous terrain checks for all charges

Round One Deadline: 23rd March

Round 2

Badland Boom Mountain

The cracked, sun-scorched earth of the Badlands trembled beneath the weight of two marching armies, their war cries swallowed by the constant, rumbling growl of Boom Mountain. The great volcano loomed above them, its jagged peak belching thick plumes of smoke that rolled across the battlefield like ghostly serpents, curling into every crevice and choking the air with the acrid scent of brimstone. Visibility was a cruel joke—beyond a few paces, soldiers were little more than shifting shadows, their forms distorted by the swirling haze, friend and foe indistinguishable until the clash of steel proved otherwise. The heat was suffocating, sweat drenching armor and turning grips slick on sword hilts, but near the mountain’s base, where the air was clearer, warbands formed up in grim determination, watching as figures flickered in and out of sight like specters in the hellish fog. Somewhere within the roiling smoke, the first scream rang out, and the battle for the Badlands began.

Battles fought at Badlands Boom Mountain have the following additional stipulations:

Mountain Pass

Battle for Boom Mountain: Battle for Boom Mountain:Volcano (or similar impassable rocky terrain piece) in the centre of the board. The controller of this at the end of each round is awarded with 1 scenario point. The player with the most scenario points at the end of the game earns an additional 250VP (remember to track any scenario points gained by your LITM)

Glow: Unless within 6” of Boom Mountain, LOS is reduced to 6”

Gloom: -1LD within 6” of volcano (smog)

Round 3

Norscan Winter Nights

The howling blizzard shrieked through the frozen wastes of Norsca, driving sheets of ice and snow across the battlefield in a relentless fury. The two armies stood like specters in the storm, their forms half-shrouded by the swirling white, their banners stiff with frost. Bolts and arrows, loosed into the gale, wavered and lost their bite, sent off course or buried harmlessly in the drifts. The snow underfoot was treacherous, swallowing boots to the knee, making every step a labor, every charge a desperate slog through the biting cold. Frost clung to armor and beards, ice creeping into joints and stiffening fingers around sword hilts. War cries were snatched away by the wind, lost in the deafening roar of the storm. Somewhere in the whiteness, the enemy lurked—waiting, watching, their silhouettes flickering like ghosts in the blizzard’s embrace. When the battle began, it would be a brutal, close-quarters struggle, fought with breath steaming and blood freezing as soon as it touched the snow.

Battles fought during the Norscan Winter Nights have the following additional stipulations:

  • Flank Attack
  • Blizzard: All Ranged Weapon Ranges reduced by 6” due to the weight of the falling snow.
  • Deep Snow: Roll charges as if they’re in difficult terrain, take the lowest of the two dice, thanks to the deep snow underfoot.

Round 4

Drought in the Darklands

The scorched plains of the Darklands stretched endlessly beneath a sun that showed no mercy, its brutal heat baking the cracked earth and bleaching the bones of the fallen. For weeks, the two armies had waged war across this desolate wasteland, clashing over barren hills and volcanic ridges, but now, as they stood once more on the edge of battle, it was not just steel and blood that weighed upon them—it was exhaustion. The drought had stolen what little water the land had left, leaving soldiers gaunt and hollow-eyed, their lips cracked, their tongues swollen with thirst. Armor felt heavier, swords dragged in the dust, and every movement was sluggish, driven more by duty than desire. There was no glory in this fight, no hunger for conquest—only the weary knowledge that if they did not stand, they would fall. Yet, in the back of every warrior’s mind, beyond the fatigue and the heat, was a single thought stronger than any battle cry: “I just want to go home.”

Battles fought during the Drought In The Darklands have the following additional stipulations:

  • Meeting Engagement
  • Too tired to live: – 1 move stat.  This also reduces Fly (X).
  • Too tired to die:  – 1 Str on a turn you charge.
